The Canterbury Community Precinct offers affordable meeting rooms and flexible function spaces available for small businesses, community groups as well as individuals such as music teachers, allied health professionals and private tutors.

Access is available during weekdays, evenings and weekends depending on your needs.

What we offer

Main Spaces

Community Rooms

Our most versatile spaces can be used as single rooms, ideal for meetings or small functions for up to 30 people, or as a large double room ideal for annual general meetings, community events or large functions for up to 60 people

Art Room

A versatile space that can be used for functions and meetings for up to 20 people or for workshops / classes

The Workshop

A more industrial space which is ideal for workshops / classes, including art & craft, gardening, dance classes or messy kids parties

Other Spaces

The Kitchen

Featuring a full size fridge, 5 Burner stove top and 90cm oven. This space is available as a stand alone space or as an addition to any venue hire.

The Planning Office

This compact space is the ideal meeting space for up to 6 people or for those one-on-one consultations.

All rooms are available with or without tables and chairs according to your specific requirements.

Our entire precinct is fully wheelchair accessible and includes ramp and lift access, braille signage, hearing loop, baby change facilities and accessible adult change facility.

Weekend Venue Hires are charged at a higher rate than weekday hires and have a 3 hour minimum hire time.

Weekend and After-hours Hires require a security deposit which is returnable after the hire**

** All or part of the security deposit will be forfeited by the Hirer in the event of property damage, overstaying time of hire, loss of, or not correctly returning any key cards given access to, incomplete cleaning of venue, leaving rubbish, nuisance or noise caused to neighbours, loss of CNC community goodwill due to hirer or guest actions, or if helium balloons are found in the Centre.
