Climate Resilient Gardening
Discover practical, sustainable ways to choose plants, save water, and build a resilient garden for the future.
Our gardens are increasingly exposed to hotter temperatures, extended dry periods, intense rainfall and other weather extremes. By planning for change and working with natural systems, gardeners can create healthy, adaptable spaces that are better able to cope with a changing climate.
Presented by Sustainable Gardening Australia and funded by the City of Boroondara, this workshop will help you build a more climate-resilient garden. Topics covered include improving soil health, choosing hardy and diverse plants, creating habitat, using water wisely, managing heat and planning for both drought and heavy rain. Practical design ideas and simple actions will also be explored, giving you the confidence to help your garden thrive through changing condition
