Course Brief

Nature in Art is a painting class focussed on the realistic depiction of the natural world. Combining scientific observation, colour layering and multiple subject drawings or photographs, the goal is for students to develop their own style while producing an accurate representation of their natural subject.

Nature in Art students select their own project and work with guidance to develop their painting techniques. The results are highly detailed depictions that capture the beauty of their subject.

What you will learn

Learn how to use water colour techniques to illustrate the natural and botanical world.

Develop your skills in observation and combine these with a range of painting techniques and colour mixing to produce realistic birds, native animals and plants in watercolour.

What to bring

Students bring their own supplies to class based on their project requirements.

A list of recommended art supplies will be provided by the tutor.
